Shipped out to Sea!

I am one of those very unlucky few that have never been able to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, beautiful scenery, and other countries that you get to enjoy when on a cruise. That's not even the slightest case compared to my best friend Leslie! She to this date has been on 2 cruises, and Hawaii. So needless to say when we decided that we wanted to go on a cruise together, it was quite hard to find one that went to places she had never been! Well we looked up a few things last night and got a hit on a cruise that had places she had never been. Although she didn't care if she had been to the same place or not, I didn't want her to have to go to a place or on the same cruise that she had already been on. We found one that goes to Jamaica, and some other places. We still have LOTS of planning to do, but we have a year to plan so I think we are in good shape! So far the ship that we THINK we are going to be on is the Carnival Conquest. We are planning on going to Jamaica and a few other places for a 7-day cruise. I just can not wait to be sitting on the sun deck with my best friend tanning away! We I know we will have so much fun! I just wish I could get a time machine and have it be a year from now!

A painful look into the other side of my life.

The Wikipedia definition of a migraine headache is: a debilitating condition characterized by moderate to severe headache, and nausea. It is about three times more common in women than in men. That last part of that statement couldn't be more true! I am one of the people that suffer from migraine headaches. For as long as I can remember, I have always had these stupid things and they have ruined many things for me from vacations, dates, girls nights, church stuff, and even a bachelorette party! It seems like I have tried everything, every medicine that assures me relief! After talking to my dad one night, when he noticed I had been getting up and getting migraine medicine for the past week, every night like clockwork, he and I decided to cut out caffeine and chocolate and see if that helps at all. At that point I would try anything! Even if it was 2 of my favorite things! Well, its been a little over a week, and I will say this it has help slightly but not like I would like. I was really worried about if I could even cut out the caffeine and the CHOCOLATE, but much to my surprise, it was not as hard as I had thought. I just replaced drinking Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke with Sprite and more lemonade at restaurants. The chocolate is what is going to kill me tho! I messed up Saturday morning and got a Chocolate twist doughnut. Thought nothing about it when I ordered it, then when I actually got it in my hands I was so mad at myself! But I had to eat it. Like I said I am to the point where I would do ANYTHING to make these dern things go away! So much that I would let them do surgery on my head if they have to!

Bayou Country Superfest!!!

This weekend I will be in Baton Rouge at Bayou Country Superfest!! I have not been this excited for something in a LONG time!! This is my status on facebook: What do Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Zac Brown Band, Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, Luke Bryan, Jason Michael Carroll, Josh Thompson, and Lee Brice allll have in common??? I get to see them this weekend!! Bayou Country Fest here I come!! I have always wanted to go to CMA Fest in Nashville, but, I have never been able to either get the money to go or had the time off from work to spare. So my awesome friend, Doug Hogan, asked me about 4 or 5 months ago if I wanted to go with him and some of his friends to this Bayou Country Superfest. I had never heard of it, but once he told me who all would be there to perform, I was on board IMMEDIATELY!! I love country music so he knew this would be right up my alley. Well today is Thursday and I will be heading to meet everyone in Monroe when I get off work, I will not be taking a lunch so I can leave an hour early! Which means I will get there about 5:30! This is going to be the longest day for sure! I have been looking forward to this trip for the past 5 months!

The plan is to get up and leave early Friday morning then, when we get to Baton Rouge that afternoon, we are going to a water park called Blue Bayou! We will probably stay there until that night and then that night I am sure we will go to New Orleans and go to Bourbon street, a few people are wanting to get tattoo's so that will be fun I think! Then Saturday the concerts don't start until about 4 that afternoon, but tailgating we start at 11 that morning. I am sure Sunday would be the same way. I am just so excited about going to New Orleans and Baton Rouge, I have never been this far South. I love to travel so I can NOT wait! Pictures to come!!!

The Girls and some random guy that jumped in the picture
Me and Webb ready to go out on Bourban Street!

Me and my girl Jennifer!
Crazy amount of people on Bourban!

Me and Jennifer the first day of Bayou Fest
Me and Doug!!
There are SO many more pictures but I don't think I can upload over 230 pictures on here! I had such a great time! Got to see so many good concerts and hung out with some pretty awesome people! The water park was a lot of fun! We stayed there for hours! Bourban street was CRAZY!! So much fun tho! All the concerts and the performers was the highlight for me tho, I am a big country buff so I was just like a little kid in a candy store! Hope I get to go back next year!

Lists Lists and more Lists

If you had to make a list of things that would make your life, in your eyes, "perfect", what would that list look like? My list would prolly be quite lengthy. Assuming I will still be living in Magnolia, my list would probably look like this:
~* I always say if Magnolia had a Chick-Fil-A, Coldstone, and Chili's I would be set for LIFE!

~* If I had a robot machine like on the Jetsons that would dress me, do my makeup, and hair that would be great too! I could wake up and be ready to walk out the door in less that 15 minuets!
~* I would love to be able to play the guitar! Since I LOVE to sing, I have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar and be able to just "pick and grin" as they say.
~* If you never had any malfunctions with your electronic devices! It seems I am always having technical difficulties with all of my electronic stuff weather its an ipod, cell phone, camera, or computer.
~* Another thing that would be great would be if you didn't have to worry about getting speeding tickets! I hate that every time I see a cop car weather i am going the speed limit or not I automatically press on my breaks. I hate living in fear!
~* I wish someone would invent a teleporter so I can go wherever I want in the world in the blink of an eye!
~* I wish that you didn't have to wait FOREVER for a new movie to come out! I also wish that you could just press a button and the movie you want will just appear!

Im sure there will be more to add to this list! Be looking!

Rain Rain GO AWAY!!

So the past week has been absolutely CRAZY! On Monday and Tuesday the tornado sirens when off in Magnolia. If you know me, you know that I HATE tornado's, even worse than that I hate the siren! Well every Monday night I have a girls night at Leslie's so we can watch our show (Secretlife of an American Teenager). Well the show had just gone off and we were all just hanging around like we always do when the sirens start going off! We really didn't think it was for real because we looked outside and it wasn't raining or anything! Well we all start getting a little scared so Momma Kathy told all 4 of us to get into Allison's TINY bathroom! To get our minds off of us being totally scared we took pictures and again if you know me, you know that I love to take pictures so of course that was gonna get my mind off things! Well long story short, nothing ended up happening but many of sheets of rain!

Tuesday night I was at home and dad told us to get ready cause we are about to go to the football stadium for safety because its just a big concrete block so we were in one of the locker rooms waiting out the storm. There was a TV in there so we were watching Pirates of the Carribbean. It was my Dad, Mom, little Sister and I there plus another coaches family. We stayed there for about an hour and a half and then we got the all clear from dad. Yet again nothing happened! Although nothing happened here in Magnolia, a lot happened in other places in Arkansas. According to Yahoo, places like Vilonia, a town of some 3,000 people north of Little Rock, one death was confirmed and between 50 to 80 houses were destroyed by the tornado, according to Faulkner County emergency management. Police reported a path of destruction half a mile wide. I think we all need to take time and think about the families and communities that have been affected by these storms. Also if we were not effected by the storms except for rain we really need to take a time to be thankful that we were so lucky! Keep all those effected in your prayers!

My new addiction!

So I have totally become addicted to Brantley Gilbert! I havent heard a song of his that I don't like yet! Here are my 2 favorite songs. I'm sure you will soon feel the same way! He seems like a pretty awesome guy. Before a show he will go out and meet some of the fans and sign autographs. It would be awesome to meet him I think!

How will YOU make a difference?

At church last night we were confronted with a challenge to find ways to bring Christ on SAU's campus. We were made up in groups about about 4 or 5 people. In my group it was me and 4 other girls, Katie, Kate, Amanda and Sydney. First we were to put our paper in 3 columns and told to brainstorm ideas on how to bring Christ to campus, then we in the next column we were to brainstorm ideas to be able to do if money was infinite. Then in the 3rd column we were to brainstorm about what we could do with $25. Little did we know that we were actually going to be given $25 and told to spend it however we needed in order to bring one of out ideas to life. My group chose an idea that we think would just be perfect! Our idea was to get a bunch of just cheapo sunglasses and then we were going to write with a paint pen on the ear piece of them the verse 2 Cor. 5:7 which is walk by faith not by sight. We plan to hand them out to everyone at school or however many we can get for 25 dollars which will probably be about 25. I will be taking pictures of the out come and let you know how our idea came out. Hopefully it will be a hit! Until then! :)

The sunglasses turned out GREAT!

All of them were gone within like 2 hours and at church everyone was wanting us to make them some. We may have started something new! I love my group and the ladies did an awesome job. I didn't get to help as much as I liked because I was at work when they did a lot of the work but I helped out when I could!

Never Regret Anything you say??

There's a saying, "Never regret anything, because at one point it was exactly what you wanted", until yesterday I agreed with that saying 100%. Now I have to say that I realized one thing in my life that I do regret. That is the fact that I quit doing gymnastics when I was younger. What brought this on? Well yesterday was just another lazy Sunday, the great ones where you just lay up all snuggled in bed and watch TV and do NOTHING! Well the Southeastern gymnastic competition was on. Teams from Arkansas, LSU, Florida, Alabama and Georgia were competing. Being as I used to take gymnastics, I was glued to the TV in a instant! After watching it for the next 2 hours, I realized that I, in fact, really do miss it and regret that I quit! I can't even remember now why I even wanted to quit. I loved it so much! It was something I was actually good at! I loved all the events beam, uneven bar, vault, and floor! I was able to jump and do the splits horizontally and vertically. I was so proud of myself because I was the only one in my class that could do it! When I saw these girls doing all the event it almost brought tears to my eyes because I missed it so much. Arkansas did a really great job but in the end Alabama won for the third year in a row.  All in all I guess now I will just have to sit back and enjoy just being a spectator at gymnastic events. Sucks but that's what happens when you regret things later in life.

Work Work all week long!

I am now part of the world that has a full time job with benefits the whole nine yards. I have been working at the local newspaper in my hometown doing the classifieds page and being the receptionist since about the 2nd week of February. I was totally nervous about it, but now I get up every morning excited to go to work!

I am the second to youngest girl that works here. There are about 20 people that work here but around my desk are some pretty amazingly crazy ladies Catherine, Carolyn and Kathy, (yes, I definitely got their names mixed up a lot in the beginning but hey I mean wouldn't you!)and my desk is right in the middle of all 3 of them. The have all been here for many years and could probably do their jobs blind folded! There was so much information and things that I had to learn to do and they were always so nice and willing to help me! Well now that I pretty much have everything under control now, we all gossip and goof around and I absolutely love it!

There is Catherine, in charge of retail advertising who is the type she is always up for finding the best deals on anything and everything. We always know how she is going to sound when she answers the phone, it never changes from her upbeat happy voice, we mock her all the time and she just laughs. It seems she is always going somewhere with her hubby on the weekends so on Monday morning we are all dying to hear what adventure she went on the past weekend.

Next there is Carolyn, also in charge of retail advertising. She is the one that I consider that I can ask her advice on anything. We always know when her hubby calls up here to talk to her he has a suducing type tone to his voice and we always talk in that voice when he calls and she just laughs. She just bought a new Lake house so she is really excited about getting her house all fixed up, said she was going to have a party once it is so we can all come see it.
Catherine on the left and Carolyn on the right
Then there is Kathy, she has a column that comes out every 2 weeks. Her last column was about all the pollen thats been going around and she made it into a poem that was so funny! She has one daughter that looks JUST like her it is crazy! You can just tell how close they are and how much they love each other. She also is one that always has an interesting story to tell about her past weekend.
Thats Kathy for ya!
I consider these ladies to be my 3 mom's at work. They are always making sure Chelsea and I are acting right and staying sweet.

There is one other girl that I work with that is a year younger than me, thats Chelsea! We have never really talked before I started working here, but if someone just walked in and saw us you would never know that. It seems we are ALWAYS talking weather its about our guy problems, fashion, or when we are gonna go out for a girls night! Our desk are right across from each other so we are constantly looking to the side of our computers so we can talk and gossip!
And my girl Chelsea! She would kill me if she knew I put this on here! :)
In the end I absolutly love my new job and I cant say that for alot of my past jobs. Everyone is everyone's friend and there is no drama and thats what I LOVE!!! I can't wait to see what else is in store!

My Girls!

This week has been nothing but awesome nights with some of my favorite people in the world! My Girls! I really don't know where I would be without them! I have some of the most amazing, beautiful, loving girlfriends anyone could ever ask for! Here recently I have been able to spend a lot more time with them than I have in the past and it is crazy how I ever went on without seeing them all the time! My best friend in the whole entire world is my girl Leslie! We have been friends for as long as I can remember! We were in the same dance class when we were little girls went to the same school, live in the same neighboorhood, worked at the same place in the summer. We didn't get really close until we graduated high school, but ever since then we have been as close as close can get! We try to have lunch at least one time every week, sometimes we are both so busy that we don't have time for it, but believe me we find time and make up for it! Yesterday, we had dinner at a place here in Magnolia we stayed there for what seemed like hours after we were done eating just talking and catching up on everything that has been going on since we last actually got to sit down and talk. Leslie has been my rock and gotten me through ALOT of tough times. There is no way I would ever be able to repay her. I always know that she will be there to laugh, cry, and listen to anything and everything thats going on in my sometime drama-filled life. When we are together you never know what will happen. We are able to finish each other's sentences and even know what each other will say before we even say it! I am very protective of her and she is very protective of me, but not in a creeper way like that girl in the movie Roommate haha we just don't want the other to get hurt and if they do we will hunt down the person that hurt us and hurt them! haha.
Graduating High School!
Les Graduating College!
I can honestly say I have the most amazing best friend in the world!
Love you Les!

Taste of the Real world!

Well, its spring break this week, and its my first time that I have not been able to go anywhere! In the past years I have gone to Memphis multiple times, Colorado three times and New Mexico last year.  Memphis is where some of my family lives so when I was in High School that's always where my family and I went. We would go shopping, to the Zoo, have a family dinner out on Beale Street, do something different everyday. When I got to college, I started going with my church's college group at SAU on Mission trips to a Mountain States Children's home in Longmont, Co. We stayed with the kids in houses and had so much fun playing football and whatever else we could think up. We would stay at the children's home the first part of the week then the last part we would drive to Glenwood Springs to go Skiing at Sunlight Ski Lodge. This year instead of going to Colorado we were going to Chicago to work with the homeless, several different food banks and then for a day go shopping and do the whole tourist thing. Last year I went to see my boyfriend at that time's parents place in Logan, New Mexico. It was so much fun, we went and rode snow mobiles which was so much fun!
Then we went snow skiing which would be my 3rd time to go and I loved it! Also I had an opportunity to go with my group of friends from ULM in Monroe to St. Louis, also a mission trip. Did I get to go on these trips though? Nope! I am in Magnolia, Arkansas! Waking up to a house, normally, very active in the morning, to no one up other than myself, all the lights still turned off just like if I had woken up early on a Saturday. I am the only one getting up and go to work my 8-5 job which I do love, but I'm not going to say that being in Chicago or St. Louis would not have been a lot better. I am coming to figure out that being in the real world is not what it seems and does suck sometimes. I have to keep thinking though that I'm making that money. When everyone else is trying to get all the money back that they spent this week on their trips I'll be there just getting paid. I will say this though, I am SO ready to have all of my friends back in town! When you live in a little 14,000 population city that has a college, it almost becomes a ghost town. So to say the least I am ready for Spring Break to be over!
